Professional Liability

Serves to cover the insured in the event of any claims or lawsuits that may arise and allege damages as a result of their services. Used by professional service providers (cosmetologists, massage therapists, hair stylists, and tanning salon owners, as well as other beauty service providers.

 

General Liability

Serves to cover the insured in the event of claims that arise and allege damages as a result of the premises, products or operations therein.

Hired & Non-Owned Auto

Serves to cover liability expenses for accidents involving vehicles that your business uses for work purposes but your business doesn't own. This includes vehicles that your business rents, as well as your employees' personal vehicles that are used for work errands.  This coverage does not included Underinsured and/or Uninsured Motorist.

Employee Benefits Liability

Serves to cover businesses from errors and omissions that occur when employee benefit plans are administered. These errors and omissions may include failing to enroll, maintain or terminate employees in a plan, and failing to correctly describe benefit plans and eligibility rules to employees. This coverage is mostly provided on a claims made basis.

Sexual Abuse & Molestation

Serves to cover acts, errors, or omissions committed by an insured that result in abuse or molestation. This coverage is mostly provided on a claims made basis. The coverage will not cover or defend any insured who committed, failed to prevent or intentionally neglected an act of Abuse or Molestation.

Business Income

Serves to cover the insured in case of a loss of income derived from a cessation of business operations due to damage to property by a covered cause of loss. Also called Business Interruption.

 

Business Personal Property Coverage

Serves to cover the insured’s furnishings, fixtures, machinery, equipment, stock, tenant improvements, betterments, and other personal property used by the business in the event of damage by a covered cause of loss.

 

Equipment Breakdown

Serves to cover the insured from losses incurred due to mechanical or electrical breakdown (not maintenance) of any type of equipment.

 

Sign Coverage

Serves to cover the insured’s signage (attached to the building, freestanding or on awnings) in the event of damage by a covered cause of loss.

 

Employee Dishonesty

Serves to cover the insured from losses of money, securities, or property incurred as a result of employee theft.

 

Building Coverage

Serves to cover the insured from losses incurred to their building in the event of damage by a covered cause of loss.

 

Workers' Compensation

Serves to cover employees for medical expenses and loss of wages because of an injury while in the course of employment. Mandatory in most places.

 

Employment Practices Liability

Serves to protect the insured from claims that arise alleging violation of employment laws. Most common claims are sexual harassment, wrongful termination, discrimination (based on sex, race, age or disability, for example), invasion of privacy, false imprisonment, breach of contract, emotional distress, and wage and hour violations. Employment Practices are excluded from standard General Liability forms. Employment Practices Liability not available in CA, LA, NY or WA

 

Flood

Serves to cover the insured for any type of rising water claim that is not a result of damage which initially allowed water ingress (roof damage). The peril of flood is normally excluded from standard Property Insurance. This is also usually a separate policy written through the US Government’s Flood Plan

 

Excess Liability

Serves to provide limits over underlying policies to increase the amount of coverage available. Usually can “go over” General Liability, Professional Liability, Employers’ Liability and Auto Liability. They usually follow the coverages and forms of the underlying policies and do not kick in until the underlying limits have been exhausted. This will not go over limits for Sexual Abuse & Molestation & Hired & Non-Owned Auto.
